Day 1 | Coming to the Father

Tuesday, February 1, 2022

Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. 29 Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30 For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.”

Mathew 11:28-30

All may come to Him, and receive of His fullness. He says, “Come unto Me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest” (Matthew 11:28). Then why not cast aside all unbelief and heed the words of Jesus? You want rest; you long for peace. Then say from the heart, “Lord Jesus, I come, because Thou hast given me this invitation.” Believe in Him with steadfast faith, and He will save you. Have you been looking unto Jesus, who is the author and finisher of your faith? Have you been beholding Him who is full of truth and grace? Have you accepted the peace which Christ alone can give? If you have not, then yield to Him, and through His grace seek for a character that will be noble and elevated. Seek for a constant, resolute, cheerful spirit. Feed on Christ, who is the bread of life, and you will manifest His loveliness of character and spirit. Is not the promise broad and full?

Keep cheerful. Do not forget that you have a Comforter, the Holy Spirit, which Christ has appointed. You are never alone. If you will listen to the voice that now speaks to you, if you will respond without delay to the knocking at the door of your heart, “Come in, Lord Jesus, that I may sup with Thee, and Thee with me,” the heavenly Guest will enter. When this element, which is all divine, abides with you, there is peace and rest.

{AH 350.3}

Heart Question: In the midst of a world filled with chaos, where do you find peace and rest? And where do we put our faith?  Are you listening to the voice of God?  Are you weary and heavy laden? If Jesus is talking to you, will you listen and embrace the rest that He is offering you.  Are you thankful for what He is doing and will continue to do for you?

  1. Pray for God’s church to stand strong in the midst of the health crisis facing our world. Pray for our many health professionals, doctors, nurses, and others working around the clock to save lives.
  2. Pray for our church members especially with regionally Evangelistic Campaigns in the five Central America, Dominican Republic Union and the English regions that God’s Spirit will cover them
  3. Pray for church members that they would come to Jesus and be rested in Him
  4. Pray for a revival and reformation for the attendees to the Evangelistic Campaigns
  5. Pray that in the midst of the chaos, IAD members would sense the nearness of Jesus’ soon return and press the heavenly throne in prayer pleading for the Holy Spirit.
  6. Thank God for the rest that He gives us as we lean on His Everlasting arm
