As you have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in Him rooted and built up in Him and established in the faith, as you have been taught, abounding in it with thanksgiving.
-Colossians 2:6,7
While the apostle Paul rejoices with the believers in the measure of faithfulness they already have, he firmly, but kindly, admonishes them to hold on to it.
Paul urges the believers to keep on continuously conducting themselves and their affairs within the spheres marked out by their trust in Jesus, doing only what He would do and engaging themselves exclusively in the things that would please Him, doing so with thanksgiving.
Christ is the living Rock and our sure Foundation and we should be rooted and stablished in Christ who is our all and in all.
“The world’s Redeemer was treated as we deserved to be treated in order that we might be treated as He deserved to be treated. He came to our world and took our sins upon His own divine soul that He might receive His imputed righteousness. He was condemned for our sins in which He had no share that we might be justified by His righteousness in which we had no share.” – E. G. White, Review & Herald, March 21, 1893, p. 177
As we received Christ and abide in Him let us therefore so walk in Him, rooted and built up in Him and establishing our faith, as we are taught through with the word of God, abounding in Him with thanksgiving. (Contributed by Noel Fraser)
Heart Questions: Are you rooted and grounded in Christ with a heart of thanksgiving? Are you walking in the path of Christ’s righteousness? Are you praying daily for a greater measure of the Holy Spirit for that constant abiding in Christ? Then pray this prayer: My most Holy Father, thanks be unto You for your lovingkindness and tender mercies. I honor you for your goodness and kindness. Please help me to be rooted and grounded in your truth and may I always walk in the path of righteousness. Thank you for your great salvation. Please baptize me with a greater measure of your Holy Spirit’s power and presence so that I may live to please you every day with a heart of thanksgiving.
