At the same time””, says the Lord. Ï will be the God of all families of Israel, and they shall be My people”.
-Jeremiah 31:1
We can have the salvation of God in our families; but we must believe for it, live for it, and have a continual, abiding faith and trust in God…. The restraint which God’s Word imposes upon us is for our own interest. It increases the happiness of our families, and of all around us. It refines our taste, sanctifies our judgment, and brings peace of mind, and in the end, everlasting life…. Ministering angels will linger in our dwellings, and with joy carry heavenward the tidings of our advance in the divine life, and the recording angel will make a cheerful, happy record.15 {CG 484.2}
The Spirit of Christ will be an abiding influence in the home life. If men and women will open their hearts to the heavenly influence of truth and love, these principles will flow forth again like streams in the desert, refreshing all and causing freshness to appear where now is barrenness and dearth.16 {CG 484.3}
God wants us to be a part of His family in heaven, because He says He will be a family to us and we be His people if we trust Him and commit ourselves to Him individually and as a family.
Heart Questions: Do you see yourself, your family as a part of the family of God? Are we living as a family the beauty of Jesus? Is the Spirit of Christ the abiding influence in the home? Is the recording angel making cheerful and happy record? Please pray that the Holy spirit will always abiding with each member of your family as you submit to Him daily.
- Pray for marriages and family relationships to continue to grow stronger during these challenging times
- Pray for continued revival through faithful with our families until the end of time. Pray for the outpouring of the early and the latter rain in the families.
- Pray that each family member will become more loving and kind to each other.
- Pray for God to help you, your family, and your church in establishing centers of influence, ministries and various ways to reach out to the billions who wander in darkness in the cities.
- Pray for marriages that are on the brink of divorce. Ask God to heal the relationships, pray for forgiveness, and Christ-like love to be awakened.
- Pray for your immediate and extended family. Pray for their salvation and for opportunities to share with them your faith, God’s word, and the love of Christ. Pray for their conversion and many other families
- Pray for family members who are struggling spiritually, physically, or economically to remain strong during various temptations and to look to Jesus for help.
