Therefore, by Him let us continually offer the sacrifice of praise to God, that is the fruit of our lips, giving thanks to His name. But do not forget to do good and to share, for with such sacrifices God is well pleased.
-Hebrews 13:15,16
All too often, praise to God is something that many people leave at church, an event that happens only when they come together with other Christians. However, praise should be a part of a Christian’s lifestyle, inter-mingled as a part of their daily prayer-life. At work, in the car, at home in bed, or anywhere; praise to the Lord brings the refreshing of the Lord’s presence, along with His power and anointing. “ The Psalmist says …”I will bless the LORD at all times: His praise shall continually be in my mouth” (Psalms 34:1).
God wants us to constantly focus upon on Him. God is indeed worthy of our praise and thanksgiving! … We now must offer our lives back to Him in praise and thanksgiving. Yes, this is a sacrifice when going through difficult times, but the reward is great.
Praise is an expression of faith, and a declaration of victory! It declares that we believe God is with us and is in control of the outcome of all our circumstances (Romans 8:28). Praise is a “sacrifice,” something that we offer to God sacrificially, not just because we feel like it, but because we believe in Him and wish to please Him. “By him therefore let us offer the sacrifice of praise to God continually, that is, the fruit of our lips giving thanks to his name” (Hebrews 13:15). Remember that we are to share and do good because such sacrifices are pleasing to God.
Heart Questions: Are you finding it hard to praise and glorified God? Are you accepting the fact that praise is an expression of your faith in God and the declaration of the victories you encounter with Christ? Are you doing a sacrifice of praise to God not because we feel like doing so but because we believe in Him and wish to please Him? Are you going to continuously offer a sacrifice of praise to God, the praise of your lips that confess His name without ceasing and not neglecting to share knowing that you are doing all to glorify God?
